Frank
Jansen Frank Jansen has been a professional musician for over thirty years. He is a highly regarded pianist and keyboard player, as well as composer/arranger in both live and studio settings. He has a Bachelor's Degree in composition from California State University, San Bernardino. He also holds a Master's degree in Liturgical Music Composition from Santa Clara University. Frank has been the composer/arranger for several Jazz Liturgies at the Los Angeles Religious Education Congress. Some of the artists, with who he has performed, includes: Marty Haugen, David Haas, Bob Hurd, Donna Pena, Grayson Warren Brown, Gary Daigle, Dan Schutte, Carey Landry, Tom Franzak, Tom Kendzia, Rawn Harbor, Bobby Fischer, and Jaime Cortez. In addition to these Liturgical musicians, Frank has performed with Grammy-award winning saxophonist, Jay Migliori and Grammy nominees Bobby Rodriguez and Johnny "Vatos" Hernandez. He has worked as a back-up musician for Jan Berry of Jan& Dean, The Platters, The Coasters, and The Drifters. Frank has composed secular music in a variety of styles including jazz, classical, and popular. He has written jazz compositions for both big band and combo. As co-leader of Val & Frank Jansen, (A Gospel Jazz Ensemble with his wife, ValLimar), Frank has written numerous sacred jazz, rhythm & blues and blues arrangements. In addition, Frank is presently completing his first symphony. |
